Dock Cleaning and Restoration in Lincoln City, OR
This customer called for a moss removal treatment on his roof, and as an afterthought asked if we could give his dock a wash as well. Was mainly concerned with the mess from the geese that like to hang out there.
After doing the chlorine treatment on the roof, I went and did a pressure wash on the dock with the surface cleaner. The wood had darkened over the years, so I offered to apply a wood brightener for an additional 60 dollars. Oxalic acid, the chemical I used, is perfectly safe for the aquatic life, and it restores the ph in the wood and is commonly used as a last step in wood restoration after a base chemical cleaning and before re-staining or sealing. It brings out the natural color of the wood and worked wonders in this situation.
Aside from watching the moss on the roof turn white, we don’t get the same satisfaction as we do restoring wood. Thankful for this grimy dock to make the day much more fun.
